Project 19

This is a website to tell you my story as someone with a brain injury, promote services and organisations that I support, provide awareness about brain injuries, and share incredible recovery stories about other people in a similar position.

Watch this space...

This year for my fundraising event, some mates and I are attempting a ‘Big Ride’ from Flinders Medical Centre to Middleton and back, on Saturday the 4th of November. Click on the link below to donate - cheers!

Why?

As someone with a traumatic brain injury, I want use my knowledge and experience to provide information on all things brain injury related. This website's purpose is to help publicise and promote my work, such as fundraisers I am conducting, as well as an opportunity to tell my story and some other incredible stories.

Why 19? The number 19 plays a, somewhat, frequent role in relation to my injury. I was in my coma for 19 days, I was 19 years old at the time of my accident, and a nurse at the hospital who plays the piano there played the song "I Was Only 19" by Redgum while I was in the ICCU. I believe that numbers align for a reason. 19 will always be meaningful.

I have been given a second chance, and I want to ensure I use my new and very different life for a good purpose. I want to use this experience for the advantage of every other person who has experienced a brain injury, and for families and friends to better understand someone with a brain injury. I want to try my best to help organisations who also support brain injuries, such as Brain Injury SA and the Neurosurgical Research Foundation, as well as tell you the stories of other incredible people I have had the privilege to meet along the way.

A massive thank you for your donations and for your time to check out the website!
